I was born on the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago and immigrated to the United States in 2003. I spent the majority of my life in the United States, primarily on the east coast (New York City) and the west coast (California). I moved to San Diego a few years ago as it reminded me of Trinidad, with its relaxed and calm atmosphere.
I have visited over 25 countries (check out my travel timeline below) with the goal of visiting all 7 continents. As an avid traveler, I have extensive experience in trip planning and have learned that it can be difficult at times due to the many factors that must be considered when planning a trip. Working a full-time and trying to plan a trip is not easy, I rarely found time to plan trips ahead of time unless I was traveling with someone which is why most of my travel were spontaneous trips. As my career progressed in corporate America, I felt there was a market gap for someone to assist travelers in planning their trips. Now, I am able to combine my love of travel with my corporate experience to help fellow wanderers plan the perfect trip—one that fits their budget and lifestyle. CVO stands for Chief Vacation Officer, and it is a unique take on corporate c-suite and travel, my two worlds.
Being an immigrant, I had to give an important opportunity which changed my perspective on travel at a young age. I missed out on an opportunity while in high school to visit Sofia, Bulgaria as part of my Travel & Tourism Program presenting at a Trade show for the virtual company, I was CEO of. I promised myself, every opportunity I get in life to travel I will take it, I would never let anything stop me from being able to experience the world. And I never did from the moment I became a US resident and I have not looked back. I'm not here to sell you budget travel or the best ways to travel, I'm here to help you accomplish those travel goals because you should experience the world. As a person of color (POC), sometimes we are buried in our cultured ways and refrain from traveling to other parts of the world to avoid feeling uncomfortable because of the color of our skin. It is understandable and acknowledged, there have been many times I was treated differently due to my skin color in a foreign country. You have to step back and think- are they educated enough for me to feel offended? No they are not, is the right answer. Although, I have chosen to not visit specific countries due to racism and human rights, that has never stopped me from booking that trip and experiencing a country. A few years ago, spontaneous trips was my weekly life. Now, I plan at least 1 month in advance, learning and growing as my life changes. Without a doubt, I believe that everyone has the right to experience the world in a way that is authentic and unique to them. That is why I started this company. CVO TRAVELS LLC; A travel consulting company that offers curated travel planning and itineraries based on lifestyle and budget, centered around you.
My mission is to share the love and culture between travelers and places. I travel as a lifestyle and curate trips as a business ethic.
